Everything You Need to Know About the Fastest-Growing Sport
The Basics
Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, creating a fun, fast-paced game with its own unique style! Using a paddle, players hit a lightweight plastic ball (similar to a wiffle ball) over the net, aiming to score points while keeping their opponents on the move.

It’s All in the Bounce
To start, serves are made diagonally, and the ball must bounce once on each side before rallying begins. If you want to step into the “kitchen” (a non-volley zone near the net) to make a play, the ball has to bounce first. Points are earned when your opponent can’t return the ball within bounds—but you can only score while serving. Be strategic and stay sharp!

Winning the Game
Games are typically played to 11 points, but you need to win by two. Whether you’re competing with friends or just having fun, the thrill of the game will keep you coming back for more. Ready to play? Grab a paddle, reserve a court, and let the good times roll!
Scoring Simplified
- Serving: Start by calling out your team’s score first. Example: “Four.”
- Receiving: Follow with the opponent’s score. Example: “One.”
- Doubles Play: Indicate if you’re the first or second server by adding “1” or “2.” For example, “4-1-1.”
